Dr. Sunita Kanumury is a Diplomate of the American Board of Allergy and Immunology. She is a practicing allergist in Morris, Essex, and Union Counties. She is a Fellow of the American College of Allergy and Immunology and a Member of the American Academy of Allergy and Immunology. She has affiliations with Morristown Memorial Hospital, St. Barnabas Hospital, St. Clares Hospital, St. James Hospital, and Hackettstown Regional Medical Center.
Dr. Kanumury has been actively involved with American Association of Physicians from India (AAPI). Presently she is the Board of Trustees of AAPI. She has served as Regional Director of Mid Atlantic AAPI. She was the Chairman of the Alumni Committee for 2007 Sliver Jubilee Convention. She was the Vice President and founding member of AAPI of Northwest New Jersey. She has been a member of the Ethics and Grievance, and Benefits Committee with national AAPI.
As President and Vice President of the National Association of Allergists and Immunologists from India she took the organization to the next level. The organization became part of ERT of American Academy of Allergy and Immunology. She conducted Asthma Camps in India with Indian Medical Association. During her presidency “Pollen” Book for India was published in collaboration with Indian Academy of Allergy and Immunology. Free nebulizers were provided to rural villages in India.
Currently she is serving as the Vice President of Telugu Fine Arts Society of New Jersey and also Past Trustee of Vasvi Society of New York and New Jersey, she is actively involved in the community activities .She has supported several causes related to orphan children and destitute woman.
Dr. Kanumury is on the Board of Utilization Management and Quality Management Committee of University Health Plans for the past 3 years.
In 1999 National registry of Who’s Who has appointed Dr. Kanumury as their life member. She was recognized by Consumer Research Council of America as one of the “America’s Top Physicians of Allergy and Immunology”.
A tireless advocate for the community’s interest Dr Kanumury is a staunch ally to Indians everywhere. She has provided the needed support, guidance and funding to worthy causes and organizations and continues to do so.
